Ps3 Hdmi To Receiver Not Working
Scroll down to the audio section to see why you shouldn't select bitstream, sir. This worked perfectly. and it worked fine. NAD is not that common .. weblink
So basically what I've done is I've run the PS3 through HDMI directly into the TV and run an optical out from the PS3 to my receiver. You can still get DTS and DD sound modes but until receivers actually support DTS-HD and TrueHD soundmodes, part of the hi def player's strong points is not utilized. After so many hours of troubleshooting you have to ask yourself if it's worth it. I have an Onkyo SR 674 thru which I am trying to run my PS3.

Even on the best equipment, it takes a while for sources to switch when you're going digital in this fashion.Enjoy your Uncompressed HD Audio -- it's an amazing upgrade!
If your receiver can't accept uncompressed PCM over HDMI, then you can choose to run optical for lossy audio OR you can get a new receiver to enjoy both uncompressed/lossless audio Steve S. Your PS3 may have been configured to send audio out of the Optical audio-out, which is how the early posters suggested you have your PS3 connected to the receiver. I don't have any experience with NAD, so I really can't help, sorry.
The unfortunate thing about PS3 systems is that you need to choose how you want the audio to be sent out of the unit, either through Optical or HDMI. have a peek at these guys then I did the reset thing and that gave me visual, only problem now is no sound!?..all cords are pluged in the right holes and its a new cord Helpful +15 Report shaun- Sep 18, 2010 09:27AM thnx soooooooo much dat helped me allot I luv u mate thanxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxsssss Helpful +30 Report JoeC Feb 3, 2010 10:07PM I pressed it for 5 Nothing seems to happen. 10 of 14 Jun 16, 2007 CRyan Screenwriter Joined: Feb 9, 1999 Messages: 1,239 Likes Received: 0 He is suggesting a full reset.

Do I connect the PS3 directly to the TV and then connect an optical from the PS3 to the receiver? I assume this is possible. Sign in to make your opinion count. I'm using a 30ft Blue Jeans cable.

But all result in no sound. I recently purchased a Playstation 3 (80GB MGS bundle) and attempted to hook it up via HDMI (and Digital Optical for audio).
However, i don't get any sound when i'm using the XMB.
