then I did the reset thing and that gave me visual, only problem now is no sound!?..all cords are pluged in the right holes and its a new cord Helpful +15 Still nothing. Sure enough, much better for near 6 months and not seeing any issue at all anymore. My receiver will pass through 1080p.

Same problem here. I just personally don't like sending video signals through more than 1 source for many reasons.
My system is a 7.1 system. Try the lowest available setting on the ps3 (480p/576p?) and disable audio over hdmi to see if that works.

the symptoms are the same, the screen output in 1080p is not steady, it will work most of the time in games or movies, but it will become jittery and snowy by R. if u succed ...
I have tried 3+ different HDMI cables and non of them work.
