In this case, the trackpad cable runs directly under the left part of the space bar and Apple/command key. The evidence is quite clear, but I suspect the big problem would be to get someone at Apple to admit anything. check over here End of story. Anyways, I reinstalled OSX tiger on my MAC ibook g4 and my trackpad doesn't work at all. I'll give this a try, as I have a boot camp Windows XP. Went back into Univ Access & went into the Mouse & trackpad tab, then clicked Open Keyboard Pref.I immediately got a ! thank you for getting me through finals. 2nd. remove the battery 3. I opened up the back of my mac and the ribbon was bent just like in your post.
does anyone know where we can buy one of those data cables that we think may be the problem (the one for the keyboard/trackpad). What do I do when this happens again? Took a number of google searches to happen upon this though, eventually ‘macbook pro keyboard loose' did the trick :) I'm running windows and the USB connect and disconnect sounds are After booting into Safe Mode, everything came back to normal.
