I just don't understand why v-sync can have such an impact on game-performance when all it needs to do is stop the refresh rate being over 60fps. - This can usually be resolved by using triple buffering.
- You would never get to see those frames anyway(except has half or quator drawn images, ie "tearing") so you lose nothing except a massive framerate number to prop your e-peen up
