While I am prepared for a long walk home (I carry lots of water) I'm really not looking forward to it. I am going to contact Polaris even though that will not get me anywhere.

- A new ECM unit was put in under recall and just put in another and problem still persists.
- dealer says ECM going out 379.00 for this part which should be under recall from everything im finding out about this issue….
- Honda engines run forever for the most part.
- Now, the only thing holding the speedometer module inside the case is friction and the silicone used to seal around the wiring connector pins on the back.
- I took apart the speedo as suggested and found both capacitors with obvious visual failures.

There are at least two versions of speedometers used in the late 1990's and early 2000s - the one that, inside, looks like Figure 4 with "through-hole" components and a slightly One side note, the 2000 Polaris had a circuit board with more surface mount components. Spent rest of day yesterday and this morning testing. Make sure that you also clean out the holes through the board! I wouldn't cost you that much more to use better wire.
